It Ends With Us essentially normalises and justifies a physically and emotionally abusive relationship to young girls and dresses it up as a romantic love story for teens to swoon over. The ager of her primary target audience means that on the whole, her readers will be very impressionable and think that this kind of behaviour is okay to show in a relationship — which is what worries me with the Hoover trend.
