In my articles, I break them up as creatively as I can to draw the reader's attention to the important bits. As a reader, I find it always works when writers tease things from the beginning, like: "I'll explain this better later on" or "read until the end to find out", and I use these in my writing too. But ultimately, I think it's down to what you're specifically interested in. If you're into the topic, it will keep you reading.
