I love the idea of a discovery novel! I've also started working on my second one a few weeks ago and it's such a refreshing exercise to get me out of that place where I got stuck with my first one. Both of mine are contemporary fiction but the plots and characters are incredibly different, so it's a good separation between them. But you're writing a thriller? That's so cool!
